Truly, the way to make an impact on HD TV is with polished lids and lashes. While I love the occasional purple mascara and plum shadow base, for morning television I stick to coppers and browns. While the look may seem natural, it really does involve more cosmetics for a two inch square part of your face than for the rest of it all together. I know, it’s a bit much, but I don’t “makeup” the rules, if you will. Hardy har har.
My favorite shadow base is Buxom Stay-There Shadow in Golden Retriever, the perfect fresh, brightening base that I use on my lower lash line, too, and makes eyes look just-dramatic-enough. You really want to stay away from jet black all around the eyes, it’s very aging!
Next is Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eye Color in Burnished Copper on the crease with a flat shadow brush. Make sure to blend quickly with a shadow blender brush, it dries fast and stays put all day!
I love me some lashes, but honestly couldn’t go through the trouble every time so instead I prime lashes with Urban Decay’s Subversion. I then prime again for good measure and allow the white formula to dry. Next I top lashes with Tarte Cosmetics Lights Camera Flashes Mascara. Love the stiff, comb-like brush which is seriously the best applicator post-primer I have found.
Finally, no HD eye look is ever complete, trust me, without defining your lash line with jet black liner. Love Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Black Waterproof Creme Shadow. Your beauty made easy tip: it’s easier to draw in a straight line once mascara dries and stiffens lashes!
