Now we know ingested Omega 3′s in salmon is great for your skin, but what about topically applied salmon?
Restorsea is the newest anti-aging skincare line on the market made from a proprietary enzyme that is extracted from the hatching fluid of baby salmon.
The story goes that while hiking through Western Norway, Restorsea Founder/CEO Patti Pao discovered that at the country’s largest salmon hatchery, that the workers’ hands, which were submerged in water all day, appeared as if they were in their 20’s, while their faces looked more like their actual ages of 40+ years.
All Restorsea products are formulated with ingredients found in nature. In fact, Restorsea’s proprietary active ingredient, the enzyme, Aquabeautine XL®, is extracted from the post-hatching water of Norwegian baby salmon. No salmon are harmed as the water is collected after they swim away.
When baby salmon are born, they release an enzyme, now dubbed Aquabeautine XL® which dissolves the egg shell without harming them. The enzyme then automatically turns itself off, enabling the baby salmon to swim away unharmed. This is unique because, unlike other enzymes, the Restorsea enzyme only digests dead skin cells, allowing the living skin cells to flourish. And when it is finished digesting the dead skin cells, it turns itself off.
This natural enzyme provides the same benefits as glycolic acid but without the side effects of glycolic acid or Retin-A. For example, like all other enzymes, the glycolic acid enzyme works by digesting living and dead skin cells and continues to eat and eat until there is nothing left. This is why prolonged use of enzymes such as glycolic acid results in side effects such as thinning skin and red, flaking and peeling skin that is sensitive to light.
Restorsea products are formulated with ingredients found in nature and are free of phthalates, PEGs and mineral oil. And good news for our fin-y friends, Aquabeautine XL®, is extracted from the post-hatching water of Norwegian baby salmon so they aren’t harmed as the water is collected after they swim away!
